Mechanical Maintenance and Repair: Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial equipment such as crushers, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and engines.
Welding and Fabrication: Using various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) to join, fabricate, custom build, or repair metal parts and structures according to blueprints, diagrams, or engineering drawings.
Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and weld symbols to plan layouts and procedures and ensure products meet specifications.
Material Preparation: Measuring, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces and components using manual and power tools (e.g., angle grinders, plasma cutters) before welding to ensure strong bonds.
Quality Control and Inspection: Inspecting completed welds and mechanical work to identify defects, ensure structural integrity, and verify compliance with quality standards (e.g., OSHA, MSHA, AWS standards).
Equipment Operation: Operating machinery such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists to move heavy materials and equipment safely.

Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, Stick/SMAW) and experience working with various metals like steel, aluminum, and alloys.
Physical Stamina and Dexterity: The ability to lift heavy objects, work in various positions (overhead, vertical, confined spaces) for extended periods, and have steady hands for precision work.
Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and make corrective repairs in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment: The role can involve working indoors in manufacturing facilities or outdoors on construction/industrial sites, potentially in loud, hot, or demanding conditions.
