Patient Scheduling Coordinator / Dental Patient Services Representative

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Scheduling Coordinator to support a busy dental healthcare environment. This role is responsible for managing the patient registration process, coordinating appointments, accepting referrals, verifying dental procedures and codes, and serving as a liaison between patients and dental providers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience working in a healthcare or dental setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and intake processes by collecting demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
• Receive and process patient referrals accurately and efficiently.
• Verify dental codes and ensure proper documentation for services.
• Determine appropriate fees, collect payments, and process transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients in person and over the phone.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and dental students/providers to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed.
• Assist with insurance verification and third-party reimbursement processes.
• Prepare daily bank deposits and balance payment collections.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and scheduling systems to manage patient information and appointments.
• Handle sensitive patient information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting or related field .
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience .
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and email.
• Experience with patient scheduling and registration.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and third-party reimbursement processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable using a 10-key calculator, credit card machine, and payment processing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dental office experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with dental procedure codes and scheduling systems.
• Familiarity with patient billing, collections, and insurance claims.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in St. Louis,MO.
