Job Summary

The Preschool Aide at All Saints Academy-St. Ferdinand location supports the Preschool Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, faith-centered, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The Preschool Aide assists with classroom activities, supervises students, helps maintain daily routines, and promotes the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development of each child in accordance with the mission and values of All Saints Academy-St. Ferdinand .

Job Description

  • Assist the Preschool Teacher with implementing daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
  • Support students in learning through play, hands-on activities, and structured instruction.
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized classroom environment.
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and other school events as assigned.
  • Encourage positive behavior and model respectful interactions consistent with Catholic values.
  • Assist students with personal care needs as appropriate, including hygiene, snacks, and transitions throughout the day.
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional resources.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and assist with routine housekeeping duties.
  • Support the teacher in monitoring student progress and reporting concerns regarding student well-being or development.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families to support student success.
  • Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and child protection requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Experience working with preschool-age children in a school, childcare, or similar setting preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with young children in a caring, patient, and positive manner.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with supervising and assisting young children, including standing, bending, lifting, and active participation in classroom activities.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission, values, and teachings of Catholic education.
  • Must successfully complete all required background screening and Safe Environment requirements.
